This game was created by Clayton Rumley, Kara Idzik, and Xavier Tataryn for the PegJam 2024!

You are the brave explorer Purrcy Fawcett and you've finally arrived at a mysterious island rumoured to hold great treasures...but all who attempt to reach the temple in the middle of the island vanish, never to be heard from again!

Gameplay:

The goal of the game is to reach the temple at the center of the jungle, but there are several levels that must be traversed before you reach it.

The goal of each level is to clear a path between the start and end points of the level, but the level is full of cursed traps and possible treasures! When you clear a square you expose more of the map. 

The numbers on the ground tell you how many traps (red numbers) are in the surrounding eight blocks. Green numbers indicate if there are treasures present. Flagging squares that you believe contain a trap will make them safe to cross.

Controls

• WASD to move (you can also click on squares with the mouse or use the onscreen controls)
• Scroll Wheel to zoom in/out of the board
• SPACE to clear a square
• F to toggle placing a flag on it

Missing Features/Known Bugs

• Different style of levels (for beach and base of temple).
• Foliage and other level decorations.
• Additional treasures/perks other than Gems.
• Additional avatar emotes based on game state.
• Additional avatar visual dialogue.
• Additional hazards/blockers in the levels, such as boulders and beehives that different characters or perks can deal with.
• Additional musical stings and SFX.
• Sometimes treasure or a trap can be spawned at the start position; that isn't supposed to happen. (fixed in 0.9.1)
• Keyboard mapping for zooming in/out
